Online Metronome
Set the BPM with the slider or with tap tempo, choose the beats per measure, and play in time: the downbeat is accented and the indicator pulses on every click.
100 BPM
Why the downbeat is accented
The higher-pitched click marks the start of each measure and helps you "feel" the meter of the song: 4 beats gives you the classic 4/4 of pop and rock, 3 gives you waltz time, and 6 fits songs in 6/8. If you just want a steady click with no measure reference, pick 1 โ every beat will sound the same. The most effective way to clean up a tricky passage is to practice it slowly (even 60โ70 BPM) and raise the tempo 5 BPM at a time.
How to use tap tempo
Don't know a song's BPM? Press the "Tap tempo" button along with the music, at least 4โ5 times in a row: the metronome averages the intervals between your taps and sets the matching tempo. If you lose the beat, just stop for a couple of seconds and start tapping again โ the count resets automatically.
