ℹ️ The time shown comes from your device's clock: if your system syncs time automatically (the default on computers and phones), it matches the official exact time.

How accurate is the time shown?

This page reads your device's internal clock, which computers and smartphones keep in sync automatically over the internet using NTP (Network Time Protocol) servers: the typical drift is just a few milliseconds — unnoticeable in everyday use. If the time looks wrong, check that "set date and time automatically" is turned on in your settings and that your time zone is correct: for example, America/New_York for US Eastern Time (UTC−5 in winter, UTC−4 during daylight saving time).

What the week number and day of the year are for

The week number follows the ISO 8601 standard used in logistics, manufacturing and business planning: week 1 is the week that contains the first Thursday of the year, and every week starts on Monday. The day of the year (from 1 to 365, or 366 in leap years) is also called the "Julian date" in industrial calendars and on production labels: knowing that today is, say, day 198 helps you decode batch codes and expiration dates written in that format.
